Terms of Service
Effective: August 3, 2026.
Replaces the version effective July 12, 2026. What changed: new accounts no longer start with a free trial, and these terms no longer offer extra external-model usage on top of a plan. A trial you started with a card on file continues on the terms it started under. A free trial we granted without a card ends with this change, and the account moves to the free tier.
Melelem is operated by Melelem, Inc., a company incubated by Fountech.ai Limited (“Melelem”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using melelem.ai or app.melelem.ai (together, the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. What Melelem is
Melelem gives you a personal AI: a model that learns how you write and think from the material you give it and the edits you make, answers on its own where it can, and consults larger third-party models where it can’t. It also lets you hand work to other people, who work on it inside their own Melelem accounts.
2. Fees and cancellation
A guest account is free. You get one by accepting an invitation, or by signing in without subscribing. It lets you take part in conversations as yourself. It does not include a personal model, and it does not include access to third-party models.
We offer one paid subscription plan, Personal, billed monthly or annually at the prices shown when you subscribe. It includes your personal model, which is never metered. It does not include any usage of external third-party models: that is bought separately as credits, in packs, at the prices shown at the time. Prices are shown, and taxes may be added, at checkout.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and your personal model remains available. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable. Credits you have bought do not expire and carry over between cycles. We may change plan prices, credit pack prices, or features; we will give you notice before a change takes effect, and the change applies from your next renewal.
3. Service availability and changes
We are still building Melelem. Features will change, and from time to time something may break or be withdrawn; availability is not guaranteed, and we may need to migrate or reset data as the Service evolves. We will tell you before doing anything that would lose your work where we reasonably can. We may grant, refuse, or withdraw access at our discretion, subject to the rest of these terms.
4. Your account
You need a valid email address. Accounts are created by signing in with Google or by accepting an invitation; an invitation creates a real account bound to the invited email. Keep access to your email secure: sign-in links sent to it are your credential. You must be at least 16 to use the Service. One person per account; don’t share sign-in links.
5. Your content
Your content stays yours. That includes what you write, what you upload, what your personal model produces for you, and the material you use to train it. You give us only the license we need to run the Service for you: to store your content, process it with the models, and show it to the people you explicitly share it with.
Training is per-account. Your writing trains your model. It is not pooled into anyone else’s model and not used to train shared or third-party models.
6. Sharing and handoffs
When you hand work to someone, Melelem shows you exactly what will travel with it, and nothing is sent until you confirm. Once you send, the recipient receives a copy in their own account. Like an email, that copy is theirs: revoking a handoff cuts off the connection but does not pull back what was already delivered. Share deliberately.
7. Model access
Melelem runs every model call on our own provider keys. You do not add or manage any API keys, and there are no third-party provider charges for you to carry.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to break the law, to harm others, to send spam or deceptive material, to violate someone else’s rights or privacy, or to probe, overload, or interfere with the Service itself. Don’t try to extract other users’ data or models. We may suspend or close accounts that do any of this.
9. Third-party models and services
Answers may be produced or assisted by third-party AI providers (for example Anthropic and OpenAI) and delivered through infrastructure providers listed in the Privacy Policy. AI output can be wrong. Review anything important before you rely on it or send it onward.
10. Our rights and yours
The Service, its software, design, and branding belong to us or our licensors, including Fountech.ai Limited. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service while these terms are in force, and no other rights to it.
11. Ending things
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time via legal@melelem.ai. We can suspend or end access where these terms are broken, where the law requires, or where we stop offering the Service.
12. Warranties and liability
12.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the mandatory law that applies to you.
12.2 Consumers’ statutory rights. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that the supply of digital content and services must meet (for example, that they be provided with reasonable care and skill and match their description). Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
12.3 As-is (subject to the above). Subject to 12.1 and 12.2, and to the maximum extent permitted by the law that applies to you, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
12.4 Cap (subject to the above). Subject to 12.1 and 12.2, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Melelem, Inc., its affiliates, and its licensors (including Fountech.ai Limited) arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Where you are a consumer and mandatory law does not permit this limit, our liability is instead limited to loss that was reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these terms. You remain responsible for what you do with the output.
13. Changes and law
We may update these terms as the Service evolves; if we make a material change we will post it here with a new effective date and flag it in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, so you can review it or close your account. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA, and its courts have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the protection of your local law and courts.
